MYSTIC PROPHECY – Killhammer

Mystic Prophecy is a veteran German Power/Traditional Metal band, and Killhammer is their 8^th studio release. Although German Power Metal is typically defined by Helloween’s and Gamma Ray’s unpolished and dirty sound, Mystic Prophecy is a bit more Progressive and Thrashy … similar to American Power Metal acts like Iced Earth. Overall, this latest release features a “wall of sound” filled with crunching, prominent guitars, powerful drumbeats, and high-energy melodies and rhythms. Fans of aggressive Traditional Metal and German/American Power Metal should find plenty to smile about within Killhammer … the only notable shortcoming being Roberto Dimitri Liapakis’ vocal performance.
