Yo Metalheadz!

I`ve been around doing Metal radio since the mid-eighties and Metal Express Radio/Webzine since 2001. In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of my time. Is it worth it…? Most times, yes. My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL-dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right… 🙂

Stand out highlights in my 30+ years in Metal Radio:
-1988: interviewing AC/DC and Dokken on the same day. Big thing for a youg fella..
-1989: when Bernie Marsden (ex-Whitesnake) offered me a roastbeef sandwich and a beer after the interview and said “we need people like you.”
-2002: backstage at the Wacken Festival when… oh, no I can’t share that.
-2004: interviewing David Lee Roth after a show in Edinburgh. That guy is unbelievable!
-2004: Blackie Lawless almost shed a tear during the recording of a Metal Express Rockumentary when explaining how blessed he has been with his career.
-2014: spending a few hours with Kip Winger on a sunny street restaurant doing an open hearted interview. We know that from experience that Kip sometimes can appear a bit grumpy on interviews. Before we said goodbye he stated “This was time well spent!”
Check out the backstage pics. You can see where I am smiling the most … 😉

How I got into this? Well, I believe it all started with a Whitesnake track more than 35 years ago …

If you have any comments regarding Metal Express Radio, just drop me an e-mail, OK? Now tune in, get convinced, and BANG ON!

Keep it heavy!
