Stevie Shred is currently the lead guitarist for melodic rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond VA. Red Reign’s self-titled EP, produced by Grammy winning producer David Ivory (Roots, Halestorm, Patty LaBelle) has garnered rave reviews and is being played on melodic rock radio around the globe. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. 2019 is shaping up to be the busiest year yet as tour dates and a new record loom in the horizon.
Stevie heard his first Kiss record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from Kiss to Ozzy and Van Halen: and then into Hair Metal. Music, the guitar in particular, became his passion, and Stevie decided to pursue music vocationally. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie’s taste in music runs the gamut stylistically, but the melodic content must be there. Bands like Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, and Trivium fill Stevie’s playlist with their melodic but aggressive styles. Since joining The Metal Express Radio Team, Stevie has discovered many Melodic Rock bands that are playlist staples, such as Dynazty, Pretty Maids, and Borealis.
Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well. Stevie is currently writing new music for Red Reign, and cowriting with various other projects.
