Reflections is the second release from German Hard Rock/Melodic Rock band DeVicious. Formed in 2016 in Karlsruhe, Germany DeVicious feature Serbian vocalist Zoran Sandorov (Mr. Sanders), bassist/songwriter/producer Alex Frey, guitarist Radivoj Petrovic, keyboardist Dennis Kunz, and drummer Lars Nippa. Despite the producer being a band member, Reflections is a really good sounding record. There are a few instances in which an outside producer still could have been advantageous. “Saturday Night”, for example, starts out very promising, but kind of goes nowhere in the chorus.

Most of the record is very well done, however, with excellent hooks, production, and performances. “We’re Dying” is one of the strongest tracks, with some very heartfelt lyrics and stellar performances. Sandorov’s voice is powerful and calls to mind Kip Winger and Johnny Gioeli. The songs are very radio friendly and DeVicious fits firmly in the Melodic Rock/Hard Rock genre. “Hungarian Girl” and “Never Let You Go”, along with “Feel The Heat” have an anthemic quality really hit the sweet spot. Overall, Reflections is a very solid release, well worth a listen for any Melodic Rock/Hard Rock fan.

About Stevie Shred 166 Articles
Stevie was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. He is currently the lead guitarist for Melodic Rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
