Dee Snider’s PMRC Senate Hearing Speech From 1985

30 years ago today (September 19) was the day Frank Zappa, John Denver and Dee Snider from Twisted Sister were called to testify at a Senate hearing. The hearing was instigated by the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), who wanted to label all albums containing what they called “offensive material”. The hearings resulted in the “Parental Advisory”-sticker that you can find on new releases with so called “explicit content”.
