DANGER – First Touch

Sweden is all about Glam Metal these days. In fact, many have compared the Scandinavian nation to Los Angeles and the Sunset Strip in the 1980s. Danger is another Sweden-based quartet ready to turn the modern music world upside down.

Danger has just released their first EP called First Touch. The album features just six songs:

1. First Touch
2. Miss Money
3. Hey You
4. California Red
5. Shove It
6. On the Run

The song “California Red” is also featured on Glamnation Volume 2.

The songs on First Touch are not complicated. They are simply stripped down, in-your-face Glam. There are heavy bass lines and cheeky lyrics. Sure, there’s a hint of bubblegum. There’s also an air of, well, danger. Get it?

There isn’t a bad song on the debut EP, but the strongest tracks are “First Touch” and “Hey You.” While these Swedish boys clearly know how to churn-out a Glam tune, there are production problems. First Touch sounds a little thin and the bass could be boosted to fatten the sound. The vocals also fall victim to this same production problem. With a little editing help, singer Jesse Kid’s vocals would sound a little smoother and a lot richer. This isn’t to say the album should be over-produced. As it stands, First Touch is a fine first effort at basic, gritty rock. This album is a must for any fans of Swedish Glam.
