Love On The Road is the debut record from Athens, Greece based Hard Rock band Silked And Stained.  Formed in 2013, Silked And Stained released a single titled “Much Love” that got them enough favorable attention to attract Lion’s Pride Music’s interest.  The band’s sound can be described as 1987-1992 American Hard Rock, although it is a little keyboard heavy to fit perfectly into that genre. Members Bill Tsaklidis – Vocals, Keyboards; Tony Gavalas – Guitars, Backing vocals; Tommy Fotiadis – Bass; and Orpheus Lazz – Drums, Backing vocals, have put together a solid effort. Love On The Road is decently produced, and sonically well done.

The impression it leaves the listener with is “not bad”.  Silked and Stained would’ve been a band you dug in the 80’s, but probably not your favorite.  The lead guitar is below average for a signed band, and the record has a few hiccups.  Most notably is a timing thing in “Hold My Hand”, which may have been intended as a sounding quirky, but really sounds like a mistake. Fans of 80s Hard Rock should give a listen, and may find things to enjoy.  Ultimately, Love On The Road is a forgettable record that is a decent addition to a die hard Rock fan’s playlist.

Stevie was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. He is currently the lead guitarist for Melodic Rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
