Stephan Forte, a French axekiller, has teamed up with familiar faces for his solo effort. I don’t want to comment on this being a band or not. Sung by David Readman, also known as a half sleazy singer for the German prime melodic act Pink Cream 69, does a tremendous job as ”prog singer”. His thunderboy in crime, Dennis Ward from PC69, produced this disc, and keyboards come from the guy in Sweden’s Majestic. Overall, this is a record for people with a passion for Symphony X and perhaps the more progressive elements of Dream Theater. The music does not make my neck go bananas, but when I’ve had my dose of old Savatage and classic Armored Saint, this is a joyful break. Also, the cover of Led Zeppelin’s ”Immigrant Song” is highly recommended listening, an instrumental piece that is far away from its original, still follows the theme respectfully.
