German metalcore outfit Rising Insane are set to release their new album entitled DEATHRACE on August 21st. Rising Insane’s guitarist Sven Polizuk spoke with Metal Express Radio about their upcoming album, working with Steven Jones of Bleed from Within, their upcoming European tour, and more. Metal Express Radio: Rising Insane are set to release their new album entitled DEATHRACE on August 21st, what can you tell fans about the upcoming album?
Polizuk: DEATHRACE is a huge milestone for us. We tried to aim for a rougher, more honest record, with more riffs and heaviness at all. We even tried to focus lyrically on themes that are a little bit out of our comfort zone, as we are living in a really difficult time, globally.
MER: How was the writing and recording process, being your fifth album?
Polizuk: Unexpectedly easy, we just picked up the guitar and started. It flowed by itself. We tried to go for another direction instead of using a lot of samples or synthesizers. For you we still use these things but so much, as we used to. It was nice, as we wrote, how we have written in the past, when we just jammed in the rehearsal room.
MER: You’ve released about three songs from DEATHRACE so far, do you feel those songs will give the fans an idea of what to expect from the full album?
Polizuk: Definitely, but everyone should also check out “COUNTDOWN”, TRAUMATIZED” and “DIRT.” These are huge bangers, with a lot of great riffs!
MER: How was it bringing in the special guests on the album such as ACCVSED, and Steven Jones of Bleed from Within?
Polizuk: We always wanted to try features with friends. As we started the record, we had some ideas that might work as features and that’s where we ended up. We just asked these guys and here we are.
MER: Rising Insane is set for a headlining tour in Europe taking out Eville, Pentastone, and ACCVSED, what are your expectations on the upcoming tour?
Polizuk: We want to give a new show in connection to our new record DEATHRACE. We will play a lot of new songs, and we expect this to be huge.
MER: What do you see as plans for Rising Insane after the European tour?
Polizuk: Playing more shows and releasing more music.
MER: Is there anyone you hope to tour with and why?
Polizuk: Bleed From Within – they are on the way to the Metal Olymp – incredible live band and we love to work with Steven.
MER: Is there anywhere you hope to play live that you haven’t?
Polizuk: Definitely America and Canada.
MER: Rising Insane started out with a DIY approach, and quickly started to join big names such as Papa Roach, and Of Mice and Men, how has it been to see the evolution of the band’s growth?
Polizuk: Totally crazy. It is very dualistic because mostly you really do not recognize this evolution as you are just “living” with it but when you take the time to realize it, it is just awesome.
MER: Out of Rising Insane’s five album’s, what is one you would suggest to a new fan and why?
Polizuk: Definitely DEATHRACE, honest metalcore with heavy riffs.
