When you talk about heavy metal royalty, one name always rises to the top — Doro Pesch. The “Metal Queen” has been flying the flag for traditional metal since her early days fronting Warlock in the 1980s. From underground German clubs to the global stage, Doro has carved out a legacy of resilience, authenticity, and unwavering passion. Following the success of her 2023 album Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud, she’s back with a unique release that bridges the gap between major studio albums. Warriors of the Sea arrives not just as a compilation, but as a celebration — a salute to her fans, her live legacy, and the unstoppable energy that defines her four-decade career.

Production

Warriors of the Sea is as much a collector’s dream as it is a musical statement. Released under Doro’s own Rare Diamonds Productions label and distributed by Edel, the album pairs studio rarities with explosive live performances from her recent sold-out 2024/25 tour. The title track — written as an anthem for Doro’s “Metal Queen Metal Cruises” — is classic Doro: anthemic, fist-pumping, and tailor-made for a roaring festival crowd.

The production quality is, unsurprisingly, top-notch. The live cuts capture the sheer electricity of her performances — Doro’s voice still commands total attention, gritty yet melodic, carrying the kind of authority only decades of stage experience can deliver. Longtime collaborators Nick Douglas (bass) and Johnny Dee (drums) provide the thunderous rhythmic foundation that fans have come to expect, while the mix balances power and clarity perfectly.

And of course, the format itself deserves mention — this is the world’s first Liquid-Filled Vinyl record you can actually drink from, filled with Blue Curaçao. It’s over-the-top, a little wild, and absolutely fitting for Doro’s brand of metal spectacle.

Final Notes

Warriors of the Sea isn’t a full-fledged new studio album — and it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it’s a love letter to the fans, a reminder of Doro’s undying spirit, and a teaser of what’s to come from her next major release. The combination of rare cuts, live energy, and pure metal charisma makes it a worthy addition to any collection, especially for longtime supporters and vinyl enthusiasts.

It’s bold, it’s fun, and it’s unmistakably Doro — still conquering, still proud, and still raising the flag for heavy metal.
