For more than 25 years, German Power Metal titans Primal Fear have stood tall as one of the genre’s most consistent and unrelenting forces. Formed in 1997 by bassist Mat Sinner and vocalist Ralf Scheepers, the band has weathered lineup changes, industry shifts, and the natural ups and downs of a long career with the resilience of steel. Their previous release, Code Red (2023), hit the highest chart positions in the group’s history, reaffirming their dominance. Now, with guitarist Thalìa Bellazecca and drummer André Hilgers officially on board, Primal Fear charge forward with their fifteenth studio album, Domination—an epic slab of soaring melodies, crushing riffs, and battle-ready anthems set to drop on September 5th via Reigning Phoenix Music.

Production

Domination comes together under the experienced hand of founding member Mat Sinner, who produced the album alongside co-producers Ralf Scheepers and Magnus Karlsson. Long time collaborator Jacob Hansen once again provides the mix and master at Hansen Studios in Denmark, giving the record a sharp, modern polish while preserving the band’s trademark heaviness. The guitars of Karlsson and Bellazecca mesh seamlessly, with Bellazecca injecting fresh firepower into the mix and adding a new dimension to Primal Fear’s sound. The rhythm section of Sinner and Hilgers is rock-solid, pushing forward with military precision, while Scheepers’ vocals remain the undisputed highlight—soaring, powerful, and commanding, a true masterclass from one of Metal’s finest voices. From the blistering opener “The Hunter” to the triumphant closer “A Tune I Won’t Forget,” the production ensures that every anthem hits with maximum impact.

Final Notes

Domination is another jewel in Primal Fear’s crown. It balances aggression, melody, and drama in equal measure, delivering exactly what fans crave while showcasing a lineup that feels energized and united. Songs like “Destroyer,” “Heroes and Gods,” and “Far Away” underline the band’s ability to write both crushing anthems and soaring, emotional tracks, while “I Am the Primal Fear” doubles as a mission statement. Scheepers’ vocal performance may very well be one of the strongest of his career, and Bellazecca proves she is a natural fit in the Primal Fear machine. Simply put, Domination delivers on its title: it dominates.
