When Canadian hard rock power trio Triumph officially called it quits in 1993, who would’ve thought that people would still be humming their tunes all these years later! Their exquisite gift of igniting positivity through their music captured the hearts of many fans all over the world with anthems like “Fight the Good Fight,” “Never Surrender,” “Follow Your Heart,” and “Hold On.”

There’s a lot of demand for Triumph to go back on tour and make new records, but unlike their ’80s counterparts like AC/DC and Def Leppard, Triumph continue to remain out of the touring limelight because they’ve already accomplished what they wanted to achieve with their career, which was to be a great stadium rock band. Instead, they choose to focus on other projects that make them happy, while honoring their past.

Formed in 1975 by drummer and vocalist Gil Moore and bassist Mike Levine, the band celebrated their 50th anniversary with a very well-put together tribute album titled, Magic Power: All-Star Tribute to Triumph (2025). The album features a stunning lineup of musical guests such as Slash, Deen Castronovo, Sebastian Bach, Dee Snider, and even Phil X, who replaced guitarist Rik Emmett when he left the band in 1988. Most of the cover versions aren’t drastically different from the originals, but on the other hand, the musicians chose to be respectful of the songs while putting their own artistic flavors to them.

Lana Teramae of Metal Express Radio caught up with Moore to talk about the Magic Power: All-Star Tribute to Triumph (2025) album. He discussed his thoughts on the release, his current relationship with former bandmates, Emmett and Levine, the motivation behind his SoundsUnite music charity, Triumph’s recent performance at the Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton, and more!

Magic Power: All-Star Tribute to Triumph is available now and can be purchased through the band’s website, triumphmusic.com.

She's always had a passion for music, but she didn't get into Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music until she discovered Rick Allen's story in the summer of 2019. She was inspired by his determination to play drums for Def Leppard again after losing his left arm in a car accident. From there, her tastes expanded to other bands such as AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Judas Priest, Saxon, Cinderella, and Overkill. Aside from listening to music, she loves watching YouTube and writing on her personal blog.
