The full-length debut release from Connecticut, USA based Alternative Punk Rock act American Amnesia has all of the teen angst and naive yet heartwarming rebellion that any fan of 2nd wave Punk or Grunge could want. On …Yet Here We Are, this trio slogs and stumbles its way through eleven tracks of up-tempo Alice In Chains style numbers with heavy influences from other 90s contemporaries like The Offspring, and maybe even MxPx.

Lyric themes are mostly political or based around well-tread social issues, and between this familiar lyrical territory and vocalist Patrick Nemaizer’s half sung half spoken delivery, shades of Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine come to mind. While some of the songs feel a bit underdeveloped, there is something in American Amnesia’s attitude that will connect with all of us. After eleven tracks in a row, there may not be any immediate desire to return to a particular song on …Yet Here We Are, however the band’s message could easily find an appreciative audience. This could be the sound of today’s politically active, albeit shallow, intellectual youth.
