Blackslash is a Traditional Metal band out of Germany who has a small handful of releases already to their credit. Their latest release is entitled Sinister Lightning, which definitely oozes of being ominous and dark to say the least.

However, titles can be deceiving, as this album is rather upbeat and at times very melodic. Creativity-wise, Backslash receives rather low marks – pretty much everything has been done before many times over.

However, their extended jams, which kick in to initially sound very Iron Maiden-ish, have plenty of spark and get-up-and-go to them, making this an album worthy of your attention.
