SPV Records has announced they have signed the group Psychopunch and their new album is due out in 2013.

The Swedish Rock n Roll four piece Psychopunch has signed a worldwide deal with SPV/Steamhammer. New album to be released beginning of 2013. More News coming soon… stay tuned.

Georg Schröder (A+R SPV/Steamhammer) comments: “I know Psychopunch since they started their career on the now legendary Swedish White Jazz label - back in the day home of bands like Gluecifer, Hellacopters and many others – and these guys still out there playing Rock n Roll as it should be. Straight guitars, great hooks – this is the perfect soundtrack for the next Rock n Roll Party. We’re very proud to have this band on board now and can’t wait to release studio album number 10!”

JM (Psychopunch): “We are really happy to have finally signed the deal with SPV and we are looking forward to our collaboration with them on the release of our next studio album. After releasing records on both legendary label White Jazz Records and Silverdust Records, we felt that this was a great and natural step for us to take. We have great expectations on SPV and I’m sure they have that on us and we will do our best not to disappoint anyone! Think that some of the best stuff we ever recorded will be found on the new album!”

Psychopunch is a phenomenon of its own. In times like these not many things are of continuous existence. Especially in the music bizz. Many bands have come and gone and most of them disappeared without being noticed. Thanks that there are exceptions. Being one of them is Psychopunch from Västeras in Sweden. For more than thirteen years they have been out there on a mission in Rock’n’Roll and some might think that was it. How wrong can they be!

Psychopunch hail from Västeras, one of Sweden’s major industrial towns. The band started back in 1998 with members from various Punk, Death Metal and Dirty Rock´n`Roll bands. With four albums on White Jazz Records/Sweden and 5 highly acclaimed albums on the Silverdust label, some split Singles, 7inches and split 10inches released on various record labels in Europe and with countless tours and more festivals than you could think of in Scandinavia and Europe the band has with their Dirty, Raw, Loud, Full Power, Fast, Melodic, damned good drinking songs and a No Tomorrow attitude become a well known and respected band among the European rock crowd.
