Deventter has shared these thoughts on their current album Lead... On.

Seven months after the release, Deventter makes evaluating about the recepitivity for Lead... On



Several times elected one of the best releases of 2009, the album was a watershed in the band's career



On the road since 2001, Deventter is currently formed by Felipe Schäffer (vocal), André Marengo (guitar), Danilo Pilla (guitar), Leonardo Milani (bass), Hugo Bertolaccini (keyboards) and Caio Teixeira (drums). The first release of the band was the album The 7th Dimension in 2007, that was very well received by public and press, not just because the "tree cover", as it became known, but mainly by the quality of the band's compositions. Moreover, it was not in vain that Mike Portnoy invited Deventter to open Dream Theater's show in Belo Horozinte/MG in March 2008.

With a high level debut, Deventter had the compromisse to produce a second album even better, with enough qualities to stablish the band on the market. Lead.. On not just secured that with leftovers, but consolidated Deventter as one of the most innovative and talented Brazilian bands of the last years.

Officially, Lead... On arrived on stores in December of 2009. The release date was not privileged for the "Best Of The Year" lists, even so, Lead... On reached the highest positions. The album was voted "Best National Album of 2009" by editors and journalists of Metal Club! The album also appears on the readers poll of the same site.
In the election promoted among readers of the biggest rock/metal Brazilian magazine, Roadie Crew, Deventter appears as "Best Of The Year" in six categories: Best Vocal, Best Bassist, Best Keyboardist, Best Drummer, Best Cover and Best Album!

In some reviews and articles published about Lead... On, was written some things like "This album makes the bat of best Brazilian prog metal band goes to the hands of Deventter" (Matheus Vieira - Novo Metal Site), or "... the album brings back the spirit of freedom that was born through the progressive rock" (Ricardo Seelig - Whiplash Site), or even "The status of mature band comes in handy with the Deventter boys: great boldness and creativity combined with a technique of giving envy among the metal" (Bruno Thompis - Six Seconds Magazine). 

The year of 2009 was primordial for Deventter," says in an urgent tone the guitarist André Marengo. "After we released our debut (The 7th Dimension) in February 2007, which had a surprising impact worldwide, we participated in major events and festivals, this for two years and nine months until, in December 2009, we launched Lead... On album. The impact of this new work has surprised us more, consolidating Deventter as an exponent of rock in Brazil and worldwide."

Deventter is not the kind of artist who wants success at any cost. Everything is consequence. The love of music and art is always in the foreground.
"First of all, we're fans of music and art in general," continues Marengo. "What we want most is to continue this legacy that the bands that we admire so much left us, and maybe one day be a reference for other bands. We know it's a long way to the top, so we have ours foots on floor and we also know that success will not come overnight, but with hard work and dedication."

At the moment Deventter is rehearsing for a project of special shows that will be part of the promotion for Lead... On. More details will be announced soon.
